... the Olympics? If you haven't be, you should be!
I am not a big sports fan. The Olympics, however, are an exception.
The Opening Ceremonies are only the beginning of the emotional two weeks ahead.
The range of emotion is so big! Pride, determination, joy, sadness, anxiety, fatigue, gratitude!
I can't even begin to understand the amount of pressure the athletes feel! The whole world is watching, their country is cheering them on! Parents, teammates, and coaches have invested so much of their time and energy into them. The opposing countries are waiting for them to mess up. The judges have to scrutinize every single move they make. Oh, and let's not forget the amount of pressure they put on themselves to be the best of the best! Many of them are only teenagers too, Jordyn Wieber is just 17 years old (some are younger)! Their injuries alone would be enough to make me quit!
I so appreciate how the photographers can capture the emotion on everyones face! I love all these (plus more) Olympic photos from MSNBC!
